An investment in knowledge pays the best interest. Our NGO works to impact the lives of children from low income families, enabling them to maximize their potential and transform their lives by providing them with the most important means i.e. Education. Our school Jagriti Vidya Mandir is an English medium school which aims to provide quality education to underprivileged children absolutely free of cost. It is located in Tangasool village, 1.5 kilometers from Salua Air Force Station which in turn is 5 kilometers away from the IIT campus. The school is running in a full-fledged form from 15 April 2008 and is currently providing free of cost education to 250 students from Gopali and some other villages, near Kharagpur. At present, class up to 5th standard are being run. Eleven full time faculties give their services. Besides it, IIT Kharagpur students take morning sessions on Saturdays for students. Our target group is Below Poverty Line (BPL) students and dropouts. We provide books and uniforms free of cost to all students.
